2017 was an amazing year in the Nigerian music industry for a plethora of reasons. One of those reasons why the year was so phenomenal musically was the string of amazing concerts that took place in December. From ‘The Falz Experience’ to ‘One Night Stand with Adekunle Gold ‘ and Wizkid’s ‘Homecoming Concert’, we were treated to some pretty amazing live showcases last December.
Players in the Nigerian music industry in are slowly getting into the concert culture and fans are definitely going to expect more concerts this year from their favourite acts. We are here for that same concert magic this year and these are the five acts who we hope can bring us that magic.
5. MI Abaga
After MI drops all the albums he has promised us, we would like to see him headline his very own show. It would nice to see a rapper that is not Olamide or Phyno, sell out a venue this year.
4. Tekno
Anyone that has ever seen the ‘Mama’ singer perform, knows that he still has a long way to go in perfecting his stagecraft. However, he has enough hits to perform a complete set and his funny dance moves are to die for. If Tekno can work more on taking control of the stage, he would definitely be a great performer to be reckoned with. With your album in view, we are waiting for you to announce your date Tekno, our ticket money is ready.
3. Tiwa Savage
The ‘Sugarcane’ singer stole the show when she shared the stage with Flavour and 2Baba at last year’s ‘Buckwyld ‘n’ Breathless’ concert and equally at Wizkid’s concert. She has her choreography on the check, her band is amazing, the live arrangements for her songs are flawless, and her costumes are gorgeous. All we need now is Tiwa to get ‘Savage’ on stage, shutting down a truly stunning headline concert of hers.
2. Wande Coal
Wande Coal announced not too long ago that he would hosting his very own concert this year. Although he has not announced the date of the show, we are already prepared to have our minds blown.
1. Falz
Falz’s ‘The Falz Experience’ was definitely the coolest concert of 2017. From the cleverly crafted performances to the costumes, no one left the show without feeling like they truly got their money’s worth. We are looking forward to another astonishing concert experience with the ‘La Fete’ rapper this year.
