The trial of Danish national, Peter Nielsen Schau, who was alleged to have killed his wife, Zainab Ali-Nielsen, the Nigerian singer popularly known as Alizee, and her four-year-old daughter, Petra at their Banana Island residence in Lagos has been scheduled to commence on October 8 2018. He faces two counts of murder.
Nielsen was arraigned before a judge at the Lagos High Court sitting at Igbosere on Wednesday and he is represented by a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Supo Shasore who maintained in his submission that a DNA of his blood sample should be taken to ensure that it was in fact it was his blood found at the crime scene.
Popular human rights advocate Dr Joe Odumakin had led a protest to demand a speedy trial as the family of Alizee complained that the accused was getting ‘VIP’ treatment in detention.
October 8 will make it almost exactly five months since Alizee and her daughter were found dead in their home. She was signed to an indie label Petra Entertainment and had been married to Nielsen for five years
