American Opera Singer, David Daniels And Husband Arrested For Raping A Man
The accuser Samuel Schultz revealed that he was fearful when it happened as he was a 23-year-old student at the time. “This is about seeking stalled justice and helping other victims of sexual violence be aware that fear doesn’t need to keep them in silence. I had many reasons to be very fearful of coming forward as a student and in the years after being a graduate student but I realized that by letting go of that fear I’m getting my life back,” he said.
The homosexual couple were said to have spiked Schultz’s drink when he came home with them and made him unconscious whilst they touched him sexually.
Daniels, who is one of America’s foremost opera singers, deny all charges. “David and Scott are innocent of any wrongdoing. Sam Schultz is not a victim. He never would have gotten this much attention from his singing, and he knows and resents that fact. He waited eight years to complain about adult, consensual sex to ride the MeToo movement to unearned celebrity. We will fight this,” his legal team said in a statement.
The #MeToo movement has been active in making past offenders account for their behaviour in the last two years. Disgraced comedy legend Bill Cosby has been handed a jail term for his own sexual assault case in the ’90s while film producer Harvey Weinstein, as well as actor Kevin Spacey, are currently in court for their own alleged crimes.
