In July 2015, rapper and businessman 50 Cent filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Hartford, Connecticut.
50 gave evidence of possessions and debts, respectively in the range of $10 million to $50 million, Wall Street Journal reported then.
The papers also stated his monthly expenses are $108k with a monthly income of $184,969, which mostly come from royalties and interest paid out on investments.
It’s July again, and another UK rapper Memphis Bleek has filed for liquidation, following 50’s path.
The 38-year-old rapper reportedly dropped his legal documents in U.S. Federal Court in New Jersey in March. The papers state his assets total $274,200 whereas his liabilities stand at $385,000.
According to Bossip, the rapper whose real name is Malik Cox owes $335,000 on his Keyport home, but it is only worth $250,000. He also still owes $24,000 on his Chevrolet Impala, but its worth is listed at $14,000.
He also has to pay $9,000 to officials at America’s Internal Revenue Service and $13,000 to Monmouth County Superior Court.
He also listed wedding rings, clothes and other household items as assets, reporting he only has $100 in cash to his name and his ownership of Get Low Touring is worth nothing.
Memphis who got married to long-time girlfriend, Ashley Coombs in December 2014, released four albums during his career and he’s the CEO of his own label Get Low Records.
