For the second time this year, the family of veteran comedian Baba Sala (real name Moses Olaiya) has dismissed claims that the 83 year old icon has passed away.
On Tuesday afternoon, several media outlets reported that Baba Sala had passed on. But his son Yemi, who spoke to NET on the telephone, debunked such claims.
‘Baba is certainly not dead, and I still spoke to him today.’ He further denied that he was in a coma and added that he’s as fine as any 83 year old could be.
This report comes few months after he was reported to have died early this year, a rumour which his family has been forced to refute several times.
Having began started his theatre group in 1969, the veteran actor and comedian, Baba Sala is widely regarded as the first king of comedy in Nigeria.
