Abiodun, the Nigerian-German musician who along with his older Brother Ade, founded the collective BANTU, has released the video for his duet with Òrànmíyàn- Omo Eniyan.
nfluenced by its cultural roots in Yoruba tradition, the track draws a plea from the human realm to the terrestrial universe through a deep and emotional message. It is centered around a strong and repetitive bass line, which is supported by bata drum rhythms and harmonics. Two contrasting voices create a spiritual atmosphere and thereby connect with the higher forces.
Abiodun is a veteran in the music industry. He has been active under the moniker “Don Abi” collaborating with artists such as Gentleman, Xavier Naidoo, Patrice, Gregory Isaacs, Keziah Jones, Bantu and Maceo Parker since the mid-1990s. He gained fame in Germany as a member of the Afro-German collective Brothers Keepers which sold over 220,000 copies of their single “Adriano (the final warning)”.
Omo Ènìyàn charted on the iTunes World Top 200 at number 51 and has been well received on various platforms with a consistent growing momentum of listeners around the world.
