American rapper Meek Mill now has February 24 as “Meek Mill Day after an official holiday named after himself in the city of Houston.
Meek put up photos of the proclamation which happened at the Revention Music Centre where he was performing on Saturday night which marked the end of his Motivation Tour.
The new honour for Meek whose real name is Meek Mi appears to be tied to his work in criminal justice reform.
The Philadephia born rapper was sentenced to two to four years in state prison in 2017 for violating parole and served five months. He was released in April and dropped his 4th studio ‘Championship’ in November where he shared his experience dealing with a what he called a flawed criminal justice system.
