As projected, President Muhammadu Buhari has recorded a landslide victory over fierce opposition Atiku Abubakar in Kano State.
Buhari polled a total of 1,464,768 votes while Atiku polled a total of 391,593 votes.
The total number of registered voters in the state is 5,391,581 while the total number of accredited voters is 2,006,410.
The total number of votes cast is 1,964,751 while the total number of valid votes is 1,891,134. A total of 73,617 votes were rejected.
Kano is one of Buhari’s strongest holds and governor Abdullahi Ganduje had promised the President 5 million votes from the state.
Buhari has now won 14 of the 26 states (including the FCT) that have been declared so far.
The collation of election results is currently ongoing in Abuja.
