These are good times for Nollywood actress Funke Akindele-Bello! We can confirm that the law graduate turned thespian has bagged an eyewatering endorsement deal with Dettol as their new brand ambassador.
The new mother of twins was unveiled at a launch event at Radisson Blu Hotel, Ikeja hosted by RB Nigeria, makers of the Dettol range of household products as an ambassador for their Clean Naija campaign, an initiative that seeks to drive behavioural change achieve a cleaner and healthier Nigeria.
Funke Akindele-Bello has been one of Nigeria’s most celebrated actresses, starting her career in the 90’s series “I Need To Know”. She gained continent-wide acclaim for her Jenifa character and was identified by the brand as being worthy of championing the “Clean Naija” cause.
“Mrs Akindele-Bello has been a worthy role model and an inspiration for all Nigerians. Having also recorded success in various selfless activities, we have deemed her worthy of leading our “Clean Naija Initiative,” said General Manager, RB West Africa, Dayanand Sriram at the event.
Feelers from those in the know say that the endorsement deal is a very lucrative one, estimated to be in eight figures. It is yet another feather in the cap of the much-loved actress who many fans are especially drawn to for her inclination to make moves that affect the society positively.
