Milwaukee Bucks Power Forward, Giannis Antetokounmpo is having a great year and he just added two new trophies to his year. He won the ESPYS 2019 Best NBA Player of the Year award and Best Male Athlete.

The ESPYS held at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles last night and is an award show for the celebration of excellence in sports performance. Giannis was announced as the winner hours before the event, and was awarded with the trophy at the event.

He won the Best NBA player in a tough category where he was up against James Harden, Kevin Durant and Paul George. He also won the Best Male Athlete, making him one of the biggest winners of the night.

In his speech, he clearly stated that he was not going to cry and then proceeded with his thanks sharing. He said, “This is not going to be like the MVP’s speech, just letting you guys know I’m not going to cry today.” Then he added, “As a kid, I never thought I was going to win the ESPYs, so this is all about hard work and when you believe in your dreams, things like this can happen.”

He thanked God for his talent, his family and girlfriend for having his back. He also thanked his teammates, his club – Milwaukee Bucks, country and fans. He is still very in touch with his reality, ending his speech by saying “hopefully if I keep working hard, there is more to come”.
