As part of the celebrations in honour of late Nigerian politician, Chief MKO Abiola, Lagos State governor, Akinwunmi Ambode in commemoration of the annual June 12 anniversary today unveiled a statue of Chief Abiola at the popular MKO Abiola Garden, Alapere – Ketu, Lagos.

At the event, the governor delivered a keynote address while late MKO Abiola’s son, Abdul-Mumuni Abiola also gave a response concerning the monument on behalf of the family.
The Lagos State Government also declared today, June 12, 2018, as a public holiday, to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the revoked 1993 presidential election adjudged to be have won by the Chief Abiola.
