Hip-hop is a global genre and it is very much popular in many parts of Africa including Nigeria. Thanks to the rise of African pop music, we have seen a slew of American rappers collaborate with our (Nigerian) pop stars on varying degrees. The same can, however, not be said of our rappers.
The hip-hop community in Nigeria is a vibrant one that boasts of an array of sharp and solid emcees. But have you wondered why our rappers do not attract their American counterparts as much as our pop artistes do?
