Pop group, P-Square is the biggest music duo Nigeria has ever produced.
14 years on, the ‘Do Me’ hitmakers remain relevant in the industry with many other hit songs, show performances, endorsement deals, and their lifestyle.
However, the Nigerian music industry now have rising music groups to look out for, including DNA and Hypa.
DNA became a well known name after their recording deal with Don Jazzy’s Mavin Records earlier this year.
The group, made up of Blair and Clinton Roberts, recently released their first studio work with Mavin; ‘How Can,’ which was produced by Don Jazzy.
And now, we have Hypa which comprises two brothers, Rasheed and Ganiu Ekemode also known as HypaRay and HypaJay.
The artistes are signed to one of Nigeria’s striving music labels, Dreams Records, where they are the frontline acts.
Hypa made their debut with ‘Alert’ in November 2016, followed by recently released single ‘Asiko.’
The video of ‘Alert’ was shot in Lagos by award winning cinematographer Unlimited L.A.
Both DNA and Hypa are made up by twin brothers like Boy Breed and Peter and Paul Okoye of P-Square.
And now, the challenge ahead of the rising Nigerian music groups to get to the level of P-Square is beyond imagination.
Which of the two do you believe would be more successful, though?
