Burgeoning Afro-pop artiste; Ice has just released his debut EP; Wavy Level and it is a delight! The body of work contains four well-crafted tunes: the hit single Surely, Owo Yapa, Odeshi and Ishingbaka.
The songs are mostly mid and up-tempo tunes, with infectious melodies that have become the unofficial soundtrack of the Nigerian millennial generation.
Ice also recently dropped the video for his lead single Surely. Released in early in 2019, the visuals to the song was shot by UJ Films.
Signed to World Flexx Empire, Ice is intent on carving out a path for himself as a true talent in an industry that is chockfull of musical acts. His sound is a fusion of hip-hop, rap and upbeat and has grown to be immensely popular among music fans across the eastern part of the country, many of who refer to him as “Soundgod“.
Born in Orifite, a little town in Anambra State, Ice was inspired to go into music as a youth by the surplus musical heritage of his people and has since shared a stage with major A-listers including Zoro, Phyno, Runtown, Flavour and Simi. In his short time that he has been a professional musician, he has received a number of awards; the most notable being “The Upcoming King of HipHop in Anambra” from 9jaspotlite.
Real name Chukwuka Nwokolo, Ice says “I’m truly in a creative space right now where I’m rolling out tunes organically. When I was making this EP, I wanted to give my fans a body of work to listen to, get into my headspace and understand my kind of music. That’s why I’m releasing “ Wavy Level.” He also adds, “The EP” is like a get- to -know -me record. You’re being introduced into the world of Ice and it’s thrilling. These are four special songs I’ve curated and I can’t wait to hear you sing it
and dance to it.”
