American R&B singer Bobby Brown has been in the news as a BET series- The Bobby Brown Story- makes it way across television screens around the world. He shared some of his thoughts about the series with NET, as well as his impression about Nigeria and the entire African continent.
Excerpts below:
What’s the farthest country you’ve been to perform?
Bobby Brown: I’ve performed around the world. from Australia to Singapore; just everywhere.
What’s your impression of the African continent and Nigeria in particular?
BB: Culturally, it is so beautiful; the food is delicious and people are so gracious.
While I was there, I did five shows in different places.
What does the nickname ‘Flash B’ remind you of?
BB: When I was young, people would say how fast my feet used to move and that’s how I got the nickname.
Is there anything that viewers will be surprised to learn about you in the Bobby Brown series?
BB: I think they will be surprised to know who I really am – not the person they thought I was. I’ve grown up in the music business, and this film is an honest look into my life from an early age. I don’t want to tell anyone what will surprise them. Instead, I’d like them to go to social media and let me know what surprised them.
How was your experience on the set of “The Bobby Brown Story”?
BB: I am very proud of this project. Watching Woody McClain, Gabrielle Dennis, Alyssa Goss and the entire cast and crew create this film was an experience I will never forget. There were scenes in the film about the loss I have experienced and those scenes I wasn’t on set.
