G.O.O.D Music Boss, Kanye West, was deeply moved by the story of Jemel Roberson, a security guard in his native state of Chicago who was killed by the cops after he subdued a gunman and has reached out big time to support his family.

Ye’ learned about the story of Roberson, who was shot by police after reportedly foiling an attack a drunken man with a gun and has made effort to do whatever he could to lessen the burden on his family. The father of 3 donated $150,000 to Roberson’s family on Friday, even though the original sum placed on a GoFundMe account for Roberson’s family was $10,000.
Roberson was working security at Manny’s Blue Room Bar Sunday around 4 AM where several drunk customers were ordered out. One of those customers returned after a short while with a gun and opened fire.
Reports say Roberson returned fire, was able to subdue the attacker and held him at gunpoint until police arrived – but when the police got to the scene, an officer shot at Roberson instead, killing him.
Roberson who had the dreams to become a police officer someday was working extra shifts at the bar in order to have some extra money to provide for his son at Christmas.
His killing is still under investigation.
