The President of the Republic of France, Emmanuel Macron has charged young African entrepreneurs to believe in their projects and never listen to people who tell them to wait.
The French president put the message out in a series of tweets after he attended the official unveiling of Alliance Francaise, a French Cultural Centre in Lagos, earlier today. The centre according to Mr Macron is part of the measures to scale up the relationship between France and Nigeria.
Tweeting further, Mr Macron highlighted that over 60 percent of the Nigerian population is below 25 and so did not witness colonisation and as such they a new generation that must dispel prejudice by rebuilding a new future through culture.
Mr Macron who arrived Nigeria yesterday is on a two-day visit to Nigeria. He already met with Nigeria’s president Muhammadu Buhari and was yesterday a guest of the Lagos state government at the New Afrikan Shrine in Ikeja, Lagos.

60% of the Nigerian population is aged under 25. That’s 60% of the population which, like me, did not witness colonisation. We are the new generation. We are going to dispel prejudice by rebuilding a new future through culture. https://t.co/pnlycpB9oi

Nobody has to decide Africa’s future. Our role is to help the new generation to seize opportunities and rise to the challenge. This is what underpins a new, balanced relationship. pic.twitter.com/FYBQahgsk3
