Lil Nas X, the singer of the popular hit, ‘Old Town Road’ with Billy Ray Cyrus came out yesterday as gay on the last day of pride month.
some of y’all already know, some of y’all don’t care, some of y’all not gone fwm no more. but before this month ends i want y’all to listen closely to c7osure. ????????✨ pic.twitter.com/O9krBLllqQ

He made the announcement without really saying that he was gay but through a cryptic message on his Twitter. He simply said “some of y’all already know, some of y’all don’t care, some of y’all not gone ‘fwm’ no more. but before this month ends I want y’all to listen closely to c7osure”.
He added a rainbow smiley at the end of the statement and the audio to this c7osure song from his new EP ‘7’. However, the singer must not have been expecting that people did not already know that he was gay. He basically came out because he needed to clear all doubts and was surprised by the responses.

He went back to his twitter a few hours after his initial post to say: “deadass thought I made it obvious”. So far though, the response to his coming out has been very supportive and positive and it has even helped boost views to his new song, ‘closure’.
The month of June was ‘Pride month’, which is a month set aside to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community. It seems that Lil Nas X was not about to let the month go by without making sure the whole world knew that he was black, gay and proud.
