Many people are not happy with Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, the Senior Pastor of Christ Embassy church over a viral video where he’s seen preaching about the supremacy of men over women in marriage.
The video which has been confirmed to be a clip from one of the pastor’s sermons titled, ‘Who is a husband and what is his role?’ was originally published on the Facebook page of Christ Embassy.Org Online Missions on September 4, 2016.
Nearly two years later, the content of his message has earned him a lot of criticisms as many people regard him as being a misogynist for seeing women as being less than or beneath men in marriage.
“In marriage, we have a man, who is the head of that union, and because he is the head of that union, it is important to understand him. God made man and everything was very good. Woman was not in God’s original plan,” he said.
“You think husband means the male partner in a marriage? Husband doesn’t mean the male partner in a marriage, it means master.”
Some Twitter users did not hold back in calling him out.
Pastor Chris legit said “Husband doesn’t mean the male partner in a marriage, it means master”
He just implied that wife means SLAVE 🤔😤
It’s sad how religious leaders sanctify social constructs like misogyny & the oppression of women.pic.twitter.com/RIEyZcwK3X

A wife is an equal partner. The husband is not a master.
Stop teaching rubbish Pastor Chris. https://t.co/3llsbhTEMt

There were many others who saw nothing wrong in what he said.
Leave Pastor Chris alone, he is right . If you are getting married according to the Bible, a wife should be submissive to her husband and the husband is to guide her , love and cherish her. Carry your bitterness and go abeg….
