French right back, Benjamin Pavard has been named the scorer of the best world cup goal in Russia 2018.
The defender fired in a stunning volley with the outside of his right boot into the top-left corner in the second round of matches against Argentina which had goalkeeper Franco Armani helpless.
Pavard’s goal for France levelled the thrilling encounter at 2-2 shortly before the hour mark of the match
France went on to win the game 4-3 and eventually became the world champions for the second time in their history.
Other players who were in contention for the award include Nigeria’s Ahmed Musa, Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Juan Quintero, Luka Modric and more.
