Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo, the founder of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly, was called into the Police Force Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Headquarters in Abuja to be questioned over rape allegations made by Mrs Busola Dakolo.
According to Punch, the senior pastor is being interviewed by a team of four led by Asst Commissioner of Police Adaku Uche Anya. The Force Public Relations Officer, Frank Mba, confirmed that Biodun Fatoyinbo was being questioned by the Police. He also added that it was still too early to know if the pastor will actually be detained and that this proves that they had not forgotten the matter but were still investigating.
Mba also confirmed that the police had also invited and questioned Mrs Busola Dakolo and other witnesses ahead of the invitation for the pastor. They said that they wanted to have enough information that they can use to help with his interrogation.
Busola Dakolo had previously accused Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo of raping her twice when she was 17, and the pastor has constantly and vehemently denied doing that ever. The story has been dragged around, leading to the pastor temporarily stepping down and Busola and her husband facing loads of backlash. However, the case is still being thoroughly investigated by the Nigerian Police Force.
