If you are not a 90s kid, and you don’t know Ngozi Nwosu as ‘Peaceful Peace’, then maybe you know her as ‘Mama Tiwalade’ on ‘Skinny Girl in Transit’. She is a veteran Nollywood actress and producer with over thirty-one years in the industry. After a break from her career in 2011 due to health reasons, she is now back and taking the industry by storm.

If you’ve ever wondered if Ngozi Nwosu is married, what school she went to, if she has kids, or why she looked so familiar, then this should answer all your questions. Here are 7 things you should know about her:

Ngozi Nwosu became 56 years old on the 1st of August, 2019.

She was born into a family of six. She has three sisters and no brothers, and they grew up without their dad. He had died while he was fighting on the Biafran side of the civil war. She was also married for three years but since her divorce, she has not remarried.

She attended St. Paul Anglican School, for her primary education. For her secondary education, she attended Maryland Comprehensive High School and East Rosary High School. Ngozi Nwosu then got professional theatre training at the Royal Theatre Art Club School.

She started acting from her days in her Secondary school’s drama club. However, the first professional roles she played were in Yoruba celluloid movies that could only be watched in cinemas. She was also a cast member of the 1993 ‘Living in Bondage’ movie, playing the role of ‘Ego’. She shared the first-ever Nollywood onscreen kiss with Kenneth Okonkwo in that movie.

One of Ngozi’s biggest role was playing ‘Peace’ in Amaka Igwe’s ‘Fuji House of Commotion’. ‘Peace’ was Chief Fuji’s favourite wife and the only Igbo woman in a Yoruba polygamous family. She was known as ‘Peaceful Peace’ for her role on the TV series. She eventually left the show because of disagreements with Amaka Igwe about increments in her fee.

In 2011, there were rumours that Ngozi Nwosu had Leukemia and HIV since she was rapidly losing weight. She eventually opened up about her health in 2012, saying that she had issues with her kidney that required surgery to fix. She got government and industry support to get treatment from the UK. Today she is back to the industry, trying to lead a healthy lifestyle by working out more and going for regular health checkups.

Ngozi Nwosu has a major endorsement deal with ‘Airtel’ and has appeared in a series of adverts for the telecommunication brand.

With her health in a good place, endorsements on all sides, and new movie roles coming in, Ngozi is not slowing down anytime soon. Fans can bet on seeing this queen in many more movies. According to her, she is going to keep acting until she is physically unable to do so. Tell us a role Ngozi Nwosu has played that you love in the comment section below!
