The 2016 MTV Video Music Awards will hold this Sunday, August 28 at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
Beyoncé tops the 2016 list with 11 nominations, with Adele not far behind with eight nominations.
Visuals of Justin Bieber‘s ‘Sorry’ and Adele’s ‘Hello’, which have gathered over one billion vevo views each, are nominated for ‘Video of the Year’.
Adele’s ‘Hello’ is the most nominated video, appearing in seven categories.
Taylor Swift, who is the highest earning celebrity of 2016, failed to make the list while rapper Kendrick Lamar only makes the list for his feature on Beyoncé’s ‘Freedom’.
Other competitors in the Video of the Year category include Beyoncé’s ‘Formation’, Kanye West’s ‘Famous’ and Drake’s ‘Hotline Bling’.
Kanye reportedly spent close to $1m on the ‘Famous’ video – which is off is ‘Life of a Pablo’ album.
The video featured wax figures of celebrities such as Rihanna, Chris Brown, Bill Cosby, Donald Trump, Taylor Swift, Ray J, and Kim Kardashian, all of which took six months to create.
