- The Noiseless Party! So, MTN Nigeria was in UNICAL from the 1st to 5th of October with an exciting line up of activities for students which included the Noiseless party on Friday, 5th August, 2018! The excitement was surreal! The endless queues as ecstatic students thronged the Pulse District to get a turn at the Noiseless parties was a sight! The news of the party spread very quickly and in no time, even students from other schools outside UNICAL came to have a taste of the fun.
- The Pulse talk series took us to greater heights: ‘Greater heights’ sounds so cliche right? But the thing is, that is the perfect phrase to use. You couldn’t have come out of the hall without feeling a tingle in your soul, because something in you had just changed!
We listened to Life strategist, Steve Harris give us life tips. “You can’t dress like a suspect and expect to be treated like a prospect.”
Tara Durotoye made us realize that we can and will be more than we are at this moment and we can always start with what we have.
Listening to both of them speak and watching the faces of the UNICAL students, one thing was obvious – the students felt every word to their bones.
The Pulse Talk Series also had a team of experts give a training on Google Digital skills on how to use the new tools available in the digital world to improve employment opportunities. The students had so much to ask and learn.
- Calabar is the dance capital of Nigeria: You can’t tell us anything else. With what we’ve seen in Calabar we will be ‘enlisting’ at a Calabar dance school soon. We are still trying to come up with the names for some dance steps we saw. The world is not ready.
- Gift Galore: We thought that the freebies at the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) were pretty cool, but the game changed in UNICAL. MTN gave out not just phones this time around, but also refrigerators, headphones, bags, etc!
- Mayorkun Had UNICAL on Shutdown: Mayorkun came, made us sing, made us shout “tear rubber” and now the song won’t stop ringing in our minds.
Now we understand why MTN Pulse is a movement, you need to experience it to understand it. It’s not for the lily-livered, its for the bold and unapologetic! And we loved every single minute of it…
