24hours after the Oyo State Government demolished Yinka Ayefele’s Fresh FM studio, the management of Fresh Fm have resumed operations.
The state government, however, claimed in a statement on Wednesday that the building, with many others, violated the physical planning approvals in the state.
Ayefele who alleged that the demolition of the building, purportedly valued at N800m, was politically motivated, lamented that the government ‘destroyed his handwork and sweat.’
However, the Oyo State Government has denied reports of the demolition, stating that it did not order it. During the court hearing today, the Oyo State government through its counsel, Yomi Alliyu, said it was just as shocked about the demolition, and was already preparing to institute a panel of inquiry to unravel those behind it.
Alliyu, representing the first and second defendants – Governor Ajimobi and State Attorney-General, Bola Abimbola – in a case instituted by Ayefele, told Justice Iyabo Yerima of the State High Court, Ring Road, Ibadan, that his clients were shocked to read about the reported demolition on Sunday morning.
