The management of Alter Plate Records artiste Harrysong has finally broken their silence on the issues which led to a ‘suicide note’ posted by the singer on Wednesday night.
The singer threw his fans and some of his colleagues into a state of confusion and scare as they recalled that a similar occurrence played out with late rapper, Dagrin, who released a song entitled ‘If I die’, which eventually manifested with his sudden death in 2010.
Just like Dagrin’s song, Harrysong on his post wrote ‘don’t cry when I die; celebrate, put up a kingmaker concert, empower more youths, I have lived, I have done my bit, carry on in grace. I love you all’

But his management has however spoken up explaining that the Alterplate boss was battling depression and has decided to get the necessary help he needs to get through this phase.
In a statement written by his manager, Desmond Chima, he wrote ‘Harrysong is getting the needed help. A big thank you to concerned fans, friends and family who have put in calls, messages and emails to check on Harrysong after his last alarming Instagram post 22 hours ago.
The truth is Harrysong has been dealing with slight emotional issues in the last few days and has been trying to manage it alone. But at this point, we are getting him the needed help. We have been in talks with Emotional Intelligence Trainer and Practitioner, Oyinkansola Alabi and a session has been booked.
Depression is real, but when that happens one should seek for help in the appropriate quarters.’
It’s not the first time a Nigerian celebrity would leave apparent suicide notes on social media. The most notable example would be Tiwa Savage’s now estranged husband TeeBillz, who at the height of their marital troubles threatened to end it all and was only restrained from doing so by his friends, Banky W and Peter Okoye.
Harrysong’s penultimate post was hours before and it showed a fan dancing to his new song Tekero. It is unclear if he had other issues unknown to the public but only last year he welcomed a set of twins in the US.
He attracted some criticism for using stock photos of newborn twins to announce the news. He later explained he was protecting the identity of his babies.
