2017 has started well for major Yoruba actor, Odunlade Adekola who’s travelled to some parts of the country to do what he finds comfort in, acting.
The actor has featured in about five movies since this year started; Toyin Aimakhu’s Alakada Reloaded, Segun Ogungbe’s Agartha, Ife Ofoju, and Ireti.
In these films, he’s shown great dexterity with the multiple roles portrayed, including as a Sheikh (a Muslim leader) in Ireti.
Thus the name Odunlade Adekola is synonymous with Nollywood, and that is coupled with the fact that the Abeokuta-based actor is one of the most popular actors in the Nigerian movie industry.
So famous is he that it would be difficult to mention the names of those dictating the pace in the Yoruba section of Nollywood today without including the name of the multiple award-winning actor.

Odunlade however missed out on major award nominations recently for the 2017 AMVCA, despite featuring in about 30 films last year.
Nonetheless he remains the perfect star for fans to adore and upcoming acts to look up to.
The 38-year-old started acting in 1996 under the guidance of two industry greats – late Ishola Durojaiye a.k.a Ahmed Alasari, and Bolaji Amusan better known as Mr Latin – and has become the poster boy of the Yoruba movie industry today.
Yoruba actors, Ibrahim Chatta and Lateef Adedimeji are equally doing very well and might give Odunlade Adekola a run for his money in the future.
